All Hale the Queen!!

For starters, yes. I chopped my hair off last week. It feels good not to have it on my neck in this nasty, humid weather!

And YES, that is a magic crown I'm wearing!

My boys made it especially for me in Primary today. It contains a magical power. Whenever I put it on, they have to do whatever I ask.
Happy Mothers' Day to me!!!
Weenie Roast

Before it got super cold over Easter Weekend, the kids asked if we could PLEASE have a little cookout. So we pulled out the roasting sticks and did just that!

The boys helped Dad feed the fire until it was plenty big, and filled up on hotdogs, chips, baked beans, and pop. And of course, smores.

I told the infamous "Monster -With- the -Buggar story, which scared Brett half out of his pants. Then they begged me to tell a version of "The Cookie Story" (an original bedtime story made up by yours truly that they adore) that involved vampires and monsters. We passed on that for Brettsky's sake. I told them a version that involved all their best buds from school, and sent them off to stink their sheets up with smoke.

It's so nice to have our very own campground only 10 yards from our front door, and noone around for miles. We will sure miss that when we move into town!

Everybunny Loves Easter!

Our Easter was a little off the beaten path of tradition. Even for us! It rained chilly cats and dogs all day on Easter. Instead of Dad hiding eggs full of candy around the yard for the boys to go find, we let the boys stuff the eggs and hide them from each other. I thought this would be so disappointing for them, but they LOVED it! And it kept them busy for a while! Some of them were hid a little too well, apparently, because we were finding eggs for about a week afterward.

Snow Day!!!

Fer real!

We've been awaiting a nice big storm all week, and on Thursday it finally rolled in! It started with a chilly spring rain, then by Friday morning had turned into a chilly spring snowfall.

By noon it was a real bona fide blizzard that got school cancelled, and most people hunkered down inside.

We woke up today with 18 inches of snow - which is ironically more than we've had in any winter past. This was a VERY mild winter! So I guess we deserve it. Adam returned home from work 2 hours late after helping several people who had gotten themselves stuck, and waiting on his replacement Firefighter to get unstuck and to the station.

I thought that for sure he would be ok in his enormous, jacked up F150. Wrong. He got stuck in the driveway. And then - LOL - called ME, as if I could come rescue him in the 4-runner! (we have a loooong driveway, if that sounds strange to those of you who've never been here)

Our boys have enjoyed being outside several times today to build snowmen and a snow fort under the trampoline. Right now they are clutching cups of hot chocolate with their red, frozen little paws and falling asleep to "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".

Needless to say, most businesses are closed, and church is cancelled in the morning. So we've nowhere to go! Oh Darn!
Let's Go Fly a Kite!!
My mom came on a spontaneous visit last week. She knows the true value of the Kansas wind, and harnessed it as a true champion!

She described the experience like that of keeping 3 kids' fishing lines untangled and baited while trying to avoid being dive-bombed by angry pelicans!
Thanks for showing us how to fly kites, Gramma D!
9 Whole Years of Matrimony....and counting...

Adam and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary on March 11! It was a fun day that started out just the way I like: sleeping in.

We slept in until Treyton came into the room and commented on how "soft and comfy" our bed looked, and we invited him to crawl on in. And when you let one boy crawl in..... Soon we were all smooshed in our queen sized bed like 5 hungry little sardines with morning breath. We got up and took our little sardines to breakfast at IHOP. We haven't been there in 5 whole years since Adam refused to go there once the fireman's 50% discount was discontinued and the police department's wasn't. That's a whooooole other long, painful story.

Then Adam informed me I needed to be somewhere at 3 pm, so to take my gym stuff with me. I was a little skeptical as to where he was sending me, but found that he had graciously scheduled me for a massage and hair appointment at a day spa. Whew! Could have been alot worse!

No, it was positively wonderful! And then I got my hair trimmed and done....well, in a ponytail, since I was going straight to the gym to teach a class and get all sweaty. So off I went in my ultra relaxed, glamorous state. But when I arrived at the gym, I realized that I had forgotten to get anything to eat since our little breakfast trip. So i got in the car and dashed across the street and down a couple blocks to the "Pic Kwik" for a couple cereal bars. I dashed in, and back out only to discover.....dun dun dunnnn....I had LOCKED MY KEYS IN THE CAR. And not just my keys. My music and Cue notes for class. I had 8 minutes until I was suppose to start. So I pulled myself up by my black spandex pants and pushed my panic back down my throat. I jogged the couple blocks BACK to the gym and called Adam. I told him what had happened and told him that if he would bring me my other music and notes, I could keep my class occupied for about 15 minutes.
So I took the class through Core.....then legs....then abs.....and just as I was running out of things to pull out of my back pocket.....Adam walked in to save me. Whew! So it all worked out ok - although Adam's at-home relaxation was so rudely interrupted.
When I finally got home, I found that in between trips to town to save my butt, Adam had also cleaned the entire house. He even admitted to doing some laundry - which is forbidden for anyone to touch except me. But I was just happy to see clean, fuzzy Jammies (which, afterall, are my REAL specialty) and told him i forgave him.
Now you're probably all wondering what in the heck I did for him to repay him. Well, not much, hahahaha! We've had a long standing tradition of making each other the most hillarious cards we can muster for all holidays. Store-boughten ones just will not suffice. So I made him an incredibly humorous card that he loved, and then promised to finish a little project I've been working on for our anniversary, and have never finished. I know - superly exciting!
But heck, he got a new wedding ring from me for his B-day. He's older than me, by the way. :)

Ok, so that last picture on the Wolf post DID totally look stretched! I didn't even realize it until I came to post again and rememered all the "ooh, so stretched" comments I had gotten about it. I apologize! Wow, yes....very stretchy.
